Jami Hughes

YI have over 20 years of diverse experience in technology, information security, risk management, finance, and development. Equipped with a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Utah and an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a Certified Information Security Auditor. I’ve had an amazing career journey.

I started as a Manager Trainee at Citigroup in Utah. There, I explored various operational risk areas and became an Information Security Officer for a business unit and 2 banks.

My career progressed with a move to Capital One in Virginia, focusing on Mergers and Acquisitions within the Compliance team, where we integrated over 200 banks into what is now Capital One Bank.

The next chapter was at American Express in Utah and later AZ, where I spent nearly a decade in Finance, Operations, and Technology, also establishing a new European Legal Entity and serving as an Information Security and Privacy Officer.

After a successful tenure at American Express, I ventured into entrepreneurship, founding a Managed Service Provider company in UT. This led to a role at Webbank as Chief Information Security Officer, where I educated new FinTechs on building robust technology controls and cyber programs.

My FinTech experience continued at Progressive Leasing in Utah as Chief Information Security Officer for three years before joining Zions. At Zions, I leveraged my expertise to enhance the Enterprise Information Security group, focusing on increasing efficiency through automation. My career has been a blend of leadership, innovation, and a commitment to security and operational excellence. I have now served as an Information Security Officer 8 times throughout my career.

A constant along the way has been my supportive husband and four amazing children and two grandchildren. We have lived in 10 homes over the years, but home is always where my heart is.
