Atim Atte Enyenihi

Atim Enyenihi prides herself in a dynamic career spanning academia, biotechnology, in-vitro diagnostics, government, and the burgeoning Tech Bio. She holds a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden.

With nearly two decades of experience as a scientist, Atim has held key roles such as Principal Scientist at Amgen and Senior Scientist at Recursion. At Recursion, she oversaw the development and implementation of robust analytical methods to advance small molecule therapeutics through discovery, clinical trials, and commercialization.

Her innovative work has significantly impacted fundamental mass spectrometry, the discovery of new therapies, laboratory testing, and newborn screening. She has discovered peptide targets for leukemia, contributing to the development of CAR T-cell immunotherapy for acute myeloid leukemia. Additionally, she has developed assays for detecting MRSA, managing secondary hypertension and newborn screening. She is particularly proud of implementing a test to diagnose Utah newborns of a rare genetic disorder, saving lives through early detection.

Atim now serves as the Strategic Industry Advisor for Technology and Innovation at the Office of Economic Development in Salt Lake City. She oversees Mayor Erin Mendenhall’s Tech Lake City initiative, which aims to position Salt Lake City as a premier technology and innovation hub.

An active member of the community, Atim participates in Big Brother Big Sister of Utah, BioHive, BioUtah and serves on the Women Tech Council Board as well as on the executive leadership team of A Boulder Way Forward – Salt Lake County coalition. Furthermore, she engages in STEM advocacy, volunteering at the Utah STEM Fest, Youth Innovation Day, and Tech Day on the Hill. Atim is a fluent Spanish and Swedish speaker. She enjoys rock climbing, snowboarding, and tango dancing.
