Angie Balfour
Angie Balfour is Chief People Officer at Weave, the all-in-one customer communication and engagement platform for small business.
Angie joined Weave in 2020 after more than a decade leading People teams at Facebook and Instagram, guiding these international brands through major acquisitions and growth inflection points.
Prior to her work at two of the largest social networks in the world, Angie joined the team at Fairchild Semiconductor — a multinational technology company with 14 divisions across 5 countries — as HR Business Partner in 2000. Angie quickly became a site leader, then division leader and road warrior, traveling the globe supporting international teams through multiple acquisitions and growth challenges. Angie’s expertise led her to an interview at Facebook, where she served as HR Business Partner before joining the newly-acquired Instagram and heading their Human Resources program for one of the most-talked-about acquisitions in the modern tech era.
In 2016, Angie was diagnosed with a rare combination of ovarian and uterine cancers and began treatment almost immediately upon being diagnosed. She was declared in remission in 2016 and cured in 2021, but through the experience learned the value of the international friendships and connections she had built.
In her personal life, Angie is passionate about helping young people — a calling she shares with her mother— and is becoming certified as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) to support vulnerable children in their time of need. She’s also launching a scholarship program for foster children who age out of the system and have dreams of pursuing a college education.
Angie received her Bachelor’s degree from Utah State University and MBA in Human Resource Management from the University of Utah.
