Margo Georgiadis
Margo Georgiadis is the President and CEO of Ancestry and also serves on the company’s Board of Directors. Bringing together content, science and technology, Ancestry is a human centered company with a mission to empower journeys of personal discovery to enrich lives. For more than 30 years, Ancestry’s global market-leading family history and consumer genomics products have enabled customers to discover their family story and actionable health insights. Margo is dedicated to building and innovating meaningful personal discovery experiences that connect the world and empower customers to live better lives.
Prior to Ancestry, Margo served as CEO of Mattel, the global leader in play, learning and development. Previously, she spent eight years as the President of Americas at Google, overseeing commercial operations and advertising sales, and as the Vice President of Global Sales Operations. She also has held leadership roles as COO of Groupon, EVP of US Card Services and CMO of Discover Financial Services, and as a partner at McKinsey in London and Chicago.
Margo is a champion of organizations that inspire girls to pursue education and careers in STEM and advancing the next generation of women leaders. She has received multiple awards for her business and community leadership including the Forbes “Excellence Award in Innovation,” Chicago Innovation’s “Visionary Award”, the Eastman Medal from the University of Rochester, Executive of the Year in Utah, and was named to Crain’s “Most Powerful Women in Business” and Fortune’s “50 Most Powerful Women in Business” lists. Margo serves on the Board of Directors of McDonald’s Corporation and the Advisory Board of New Classrooms. She earned a BA in Economics and an MBA from Harvard.
