Misty Dawson

Misty Dawson is an experienced aerospace and technology P&L, product, and engineering leader passionate about building strong, customer-focused, cross-functional global teams. Throughout her career, she has helped deliver complex solutions for flight hardware and precision optics on fast jet, helicopter, space, and fixed-wing platforms, as well as simulation and training hardware and software products for the world’s top military and commercial aircraft.

Early in her career, she led a talented team of physicists and mechanical, electrical, and software engineers developing high-end display systems for the most advanced flight simulators in the world. This took her to global commercial and military aviation bases and developed her passion for international business and customer-focused execution. Throughout her career in Aerospace and Defense, her teams’ products have flown on the F-22 and F-35 fast jets around the globe, provided optics for space exploration, helped train the world’s leading military and commercial pilots, and were named a Utah Business 2023 Innovation Award winner in the field of underwater robotics.

Active in strategy development and mergers and acquisitions, she is an expert in simplifying complex problems into actionable, successful outcomes. She has led strategic initiatives for small tech and early-stage robotics start-ups as well as large-scale Fortune 100 and 500 companies.

Misty earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Arizona State University. Active in the community, she enjoys volunteering with several arts, sports, education, and STEM-focused organizations in the Salt Lake City region. She is an active member of the United Way Women’s United organization and has served as a mentor and workshop presenter at numerous SheTech Explorer Day events. Outside of the office, Misty loves spending time with her family, where they enjoy camping, hiking, traveling, movies, and sports of all kinds.
