Shey Samson

Shey Samson Bybee is a Vice President and Global Co-Head of Multimedia Operations at Goldman Sachs, where she also manages the Operator Support and Partner Technology Service Desk globally.

Her three teams are responsible for supporting the entire audio and video conferencing platforms, including remotely operating ~800 conference rooms across the globe, managing live events such as global townhalls, client conferences and Zoom Meetings, and providing workplace technology support for the top executives of the firm. Shey created and established the presence of these business-critical global teams in Salt Lake City.

Shey had spearheaded numerous high-impact projects including eliminating and reducing multimedia services from third-party vendors and finding technical solutions to manage the services internally resulting in commercial impact and annual cost savings for the firm.

During the pandemic, Shey led her team in managing the overloaded audio conference platforms while working with Engineering teams to enable Zoom for all GS employees (~45,000). Using innovative solutions, her team transformed some of the firm’s complex in-person global annual flagship conferences into virtual events for the first time.

Dedicated to mentorship, Shey mentors in various initiatives, including Women in Engineering, Black and Hispanic Latinx Analysts/Associates and Expectant Parent. She co-headed the formation of the Goldman Sachs Socialbytes Council, fostering networking opportunities among GS Engineers.

Shey continues to lead community initiatives with organizations such as Girl Scouts of Utah, Hour of Code and SheTech. She recently became a mentor for Women Who Succeed, a program of the non-profit Success in Education Foundation that provides opportunities for girls and young women to grow in leadership and confidence.

Shey graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from Brigham Young University-Hawaii and holds a master’s degree in Information Systems with emphasis in Cybersecurity from University of Utah. She is an alumna of the firm’s Women’s Career Strategies Initiative, a nomination-based program for high performing women associates and is a member of the Senior Women Advisory Group.
