Leaders progress in propelling Utah women in tech forward, despite ranking No. 36 in U.S.

This Summit sought to further last year’s talking points on the subject of inclusion in the technology workplace. More than just talking though, the WTC and its business partners are also proactively driving awareness and action on more diversity in the tech industries. Now Accepting Nominations for Tech Awards

Nominations for the 10th Annual Women Tech Awards will be open May 1-31. We need your help nominating and recognizing all of the great talent in the tech industry. Nomination is really easy, we just need you to tell us, at a minimum, name, email, company and title.

The Women Tech Awards has honored over 150 women, the award platform recognizes technology-focused women who are driving innovation, influencing technology companies, and are passionate about the community. Nominees should have ties to Utah, but are not required to be a Utah resident. Finalists and Award Recipients will be honored in September at the Women Tech Awards Luncheon.

SUU professor receives Women Tech Council award

Shalini Kesar, associate professor of information systems at SUU, received the education excellence awarded at the 2016 Women Tech Awards on Sept. 22 in Salt Lake City.

The event, hosted by the Women Tech Council (WTC), recognizes Utah women in tech fields “who are innovators, leaders and key contributors in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields,” according to a news release.

“It was an honor to be nominated among such talented woman with great accomplishments,” Kesar said. “To win an education excellence award was inspiring and motivating to continue work on efforts that increase participation of women in IT.”

Women in tech honored for outstanding achievement

Being a high-achieving woman in the world of technology or business requires intelligence, determination, grit and the unwavering belief that success is attainable.
