SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Women Tech Council today opened registration for SheTech 2018, a program that activates, engages and inspires high school girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through hands-on experience and mentoring.
The SheTech Explorer Day event on March 1 will draw more than 2,500 girls from across Utah to earn industry certifications, problem solve with mentors and explore STEM careers through activities like robotics, virtual reality, coding, 3D modeling and engineering. Over 100 tech companies will help students gain skills, confidence and inspiration to pursue STEM careers.
“When young women can experience technology first hand, they see their potential to create impact in the technology industry,” said Cydni Tetro, president of WTC. “SheTech is about showcasing how technology is integrated into every industry young women may be considering pursuing, and inspiring them to get a foundation in STEM to accelerate their career opportunities and their impact on their communities.”
